Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (the "Terms") are a legally binding agreement between you and Campus Ghost ("we", "us", or "our"), operating from Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, India.

By accessing, registering for, or using the Campus Ghost website, mobile applications, college community hubs, or support services (collectively, the "Service"), you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms.

Campus Ghost is an anonymous social network and campus review platform created specifically for university and college students. It provides a safe, unfiltered space where students can express opinions, share genuine campus experiences, write honest reviews, post confessions, ask questions, and engage in campus discussions—all while protecting their personal identity behind an anonymous Ghost Persona.

The Service encompasses:

• Pseudonymous Ghost IDs and customizable avatars
• College hubs, college-tagged feeds, and college follow features
• Text posts, reviews, confessions, questions, and ephemeral stories
• Upvote/downvote systems, nested comments, and real-time WebSocket notifications
• Support Center at support.campusghost.in
• Admin and moderation portals for community protection

3.1 Age Limit (18+)

You must be at least 18 years old (or the legal age of majority in your jurisdiction) to create an account or use Campus Ghost. Minors are strictly prohibited from using the Service.

3.2 Account Security

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities occurring under your account. Notify us immediately at campusghost.official@gmail.com if you suspect unauthorized access.

4.1 Pseudonymity, Not Immunity

Campus Ghost assigns or lets you select a pseudonymous Ghost ID. Other students see your Ghost ID rather than your personal registration details. However, a Ghost ID does not make you untraceable or immune from legal consequences.

4.2 Disclosure Under Law

We preserve and may disclose technical account logs where required to comply with binding court orders, valid law-enforcement directions under Indian law, or to investigate severe criminal threats and illegal conduct.

5.1 Ownership & Responsibility

You retain ownership of the content you publish on Campus Ghost. You represent and warrant that you own or possess all necessary rights, licenses, and permissions to submit your content.

5.2 License to Campus Ghost

By posting content, you grant Campus Ghost a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicensable license to host, store, display, format, reproduce, and distribute your content across our platform to provide and promote the Service.

You agree not to engage in any prohibited activities detailed in our Community Guidelines, including:

• Harassment, bullying, threats, or hate speech targeting individuals or protected groups.
• Doxing or publishing private personal information (phone numbers, addresses, student IDs).
• Impersonating another student, faculty member, administrator, or official.
• Publishing false, malicious allegations presented as verified factual statements.
• Spamming, vote manipulation, or automated bot activities.

Reviews and confessions represent user-generated opinion. Campus Ghost does not verify every factual claim in user posts. Reviews must reflect genuine first-hand student experience without defamatory intent. Ephemeral stories expire from active feeds but may remain in backup archives for safety logs.

Campus Ghost reserves the right to review, flag, limit visibility of, remove content, or suspend accounts that violate these Terms or our Community Guidelines. Admin audit logs maintain records of all administrative actions.

All trademarks, logos, mascot designs, UI code, graphics, and platform branding of Campus Ghost are the exclusive property of Campus Ghost. You may not use our brand assets without explicit authorization.

Provided "AS IS"

The Service is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis without warranties of any kind. Campus Ghost disclaims all implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

In no event shall Campus Ghost be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of your use of or inability to use the Service.

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Campus Ghost, its founders, administrators, and operators from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, or legal expenses arising out of your User Content or breach of these Terms.

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India. Any legal disputes or claims arising out of these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts located in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, India.
